Food Saving Hacks: Out of brown sugar? No need to run to the store — just stir 1 tablespoon of molasses for every 1 cup of white sugar. Easy swaps like this help cut back on food waste and save you a trip!
Ingredients:
- ¾ cup butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ½ cups mix-ins
Mix-in ideas: Leftover candy, nuts, dried fruit, chocolate chips — whatever you’ve got!
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugars until fluffy.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla.
- Stir in baking soda and salt, then gradually mix in flour until just combined.
- Fold in your mix-ins.
- Drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet (about 1 ½ Tbsp per cookie).
- Bake 10–12 minutes, until edges are golden.
- Cool on a pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
